Warwick Racetrack Reservoir

The club's day ticket water, Warwick Racetrack Reservoir is a delightful small venue with bags of character and a great head of fish.  Surrounded by a high chainlink fence and with a narrow track around most of the perimeter, it boasts just 16 pegs fitted with firm and secure boarded staging but each is likely to produce fine catches.

Summer fishing is excellent. Lots of crucian carp and a fine head of genuine silver bream make for often hectic sport with heavyweight bags possible on the day. The reservoir also holds carp to twenty pounds, tench to six, large perch in excess of three pounds, roach, rudd and gudgeon. There are no pike present, but there are a few rare chub and four baby barbel were introduced but never seen again...

The reservoir was built to supply water to the racecourse and therefore on race days the fishery is closed to anglers. Otherwise the fishery gates open at 7am and close again at dusk.

Day tickets are available at £5 to non-members and evening tickets are available at £3.00 after 5pm. Children and OAP's concessionary tickets are £3.00 and club members day tickets are available for £2.00. The bailiffs Maurice Hopcraft and Tony Collet will collect ticket monies on the bank.

Keepnets are allowed, barbless hooks required, and groundbait in moderation.

Access to the fishery is strictly limited to parking at the nearby Budbrooke Road trading estate and walking over the railway bridge, therefore it's no place to take mountains of gear!

*Please do not attempt to drive to the water across the racetrack — this is absolutely not allowed and anyone who does risks losing their membership and the club the water itself.
